CASE STUDY

Problem

Department leaders operate their department as a stand-alone unit creating silos among team leaders and team members. “Interdepartmental disconnectedness” exists blocking knowledge from being shared. Developmental challenges emerged as communicating effectively, managing perception of others, developing others, and leading more effectively.

Solution

Conduct an assessment on three areas: Thinking Style, Behavioral Traits, and Occupational Interests. The results formed the basis of coaching and resulted in a profound realization for department leaders. Directors engaged in approximately 90-100 hours of targeted, individualized, one-on-one coaching with an Executive Coach for a period of six months.

Result

100% participation in the coaching program. Three out of four Directors expressed the usefulness of coaching in their respective roles and now see the benefit of an unbiased perspective. Three of the four have reported applying the knowledge acquired in coaching and as a result positive feedback from superiors have been noted and observed.
